Unilateral auricular multiple trichoepitheliomas: a case report and review of literature

Abstract Background Trichoepithelioma is a rare benign tumor. It could be an inherited or acquired condition. has mostly involved the face with bilateral multiple lesions. Involvement of auricle by this tumor extremely encountered in clinical practice. Case presentation A 36-year-old female presented to Dermatology Clinic painless right auricular papules 4 years ago. Examination revealed non-tender, firm, rounded, dome-shaped, flesh-colored, pink, and shiny papules. There was mild bleeding from lesions after trivial trauma. no family history similar problem. No abnormality found on other examinations. An excisional biopsy one lesion performed under local anesthesia. The histopathological evaluation confirmed diagnosis trichoepithelioma. anesthesia were excised primary closure wound. recurrence seen during 2 follow-up. Conclusion Only five cases trichoepitheliomas that affected reported PubMed database. Four them are affecting both auricles as well parts body, particularly face. fifth case unilateral single giant lesion. Our non-familial trichoepitheliomas. tumors responded surgical excision closure.
